Bigravity as a Tool for Massive Gravity
نویسنده
چکیده
The formulation of massive gravity as bigravity is discussed. We argue that bigravity is more than a tool to tackle massive deformation of gravity.

Bigravity and Lorentz-violating Massive Gravity
Bigravity is a natural arena where a non-linear theory of massive gravity can be formulated. If the interaction between the metrics f and g is non-derivative, spherically symmetric exact solutions can be found. At large distances from the origin, these are generically Lorentz-breaking bi-flat solutions (provided that the corresponding vacuum energies are adjusted appropriately). The spectrum of...
متن کاملBulk Gauge Fields in the Bigravity Model
Motivated by a recently proposed “bigravity” model with two positive tension AdS4 branes in AdS5 by Kogan et al.[hep-th/0011141], we study behavior of bulk gauge field in the model. In this case, the zero mode of the gauge field is not constant but depends on the fifth dimensional coordinate transverse to the brane. The zero mode then becomes massive on the brane. From the physical requirement ...
متن کاملGhost-free Braneworld Bigravity
We consider a generalisation of the DGP model, by adding a second brane with localised curvature, and allowing for a bulk cosmological constant and brane tensions. We study radion and graviton fluctuations in detail, enabling us to check for ghosts and tachyons. By tuning our parameters accordingly, we find bigravity models that are free from ghosts and tachyons. These models will lead to large...
متن کاملSpherically Symmetric Solutions in a New Braneworld Massive Gravity Theory
In this paper, a combination of the braneworld scenario and covariant de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive Gravity theory is proposed. In this setup, the five-dimensional bulk graviton is considered to be massive. The five dimensional nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity theory affects the 3-brane dynamics and the gravitational potential on the brane. Following the solutions with spherical s...
متن کاملSL(2,C) Gravity with Complex Vierbein and its Noncommutative Extension
We show that it is possible to formulate gravity with a complex vierbein based on SL(2,C) gauge invariance. The proposed action is a four-form where the metric is not introduced but results as a function of the complex vierbein. This formulation is based on the first order formalism. The novel feature here is that integration of the spin-connection gauge field gives rise to kinetic terms for a ...
